Forum glitches
« on: October 17, 2009, 08:51:17 PM »
Just as an FYI to all, I have updated the forum.  I know there are a couple of graphical glitches, and they should be resolved by midnight PST tonight.  However, the forum should be fully functional - I didn't want to deny those of you wanting access!

Forum glitches should be fixed - however, I need somebody to respond to this message to test the email functionality...please?  :)

Thanks in advance,
Daisy

Did you want a response to the forum message or a message sent to you via the messaging function?

Susan,

Thanks for responding - what you did was perfect.  I just wanted to make sure that email notifications were still working - most of us I'm guessing DON'T spend lots of time with the forum open on our computer, and rely on getting those email notifications :)

Hopefully YOU will get an email notification in response, if all is working well :)

Thanks,
Daisy

I can't tell if it's a glitch or a subscription problem, I paid for my monthly subscription, can access all the boards but some are grayed out. They also say nothing has been posted since the 31st. Am I doing something wrong?

The forum was slow for a couple of days (I'm assuming you mean October 31st?)...are you back on track now? There were some posts yesterday and today.

Hi, So I realized that there is white text on white on the forum pages for reply, post, other navigaitonal content. I have been playing with it to see it there is something I can change. It is hard to find a way to communicate when I can't see the options... any clue what to do????

thanks

Please PM me and let me know what browser and version you're using so I can try to duplicate the error.

Thanks,
Daisy

Hi Daisy---maybe this is similar to Elizabeth's problem---for me the upper and navigation bars (dark blue) are at times a solid color without the options visible.  If I put my cursor over it there will be the little hand icon (so I have learned where to click) but the lettering itself will still not appear.....

Also these dark blue bars will sometimes appear as horizontal lines across the interior of posts themselves obscuring the text....

This happens at work with Internet Explorer and at home with Safari.....my Safari updates regularly; I imagine the one at work could be an older version.

I was talking to my sister about it and she says it sounds like a program glitch where some code needs to be adjusted....  This situation did not occur in the previous Forum configuration....

I'm living with it, but I think it may be hard for new members.....

thanks Elaine. I am using firefox... it used to work!

I have to scroll and highlight to find the buttons. I was trying to find some setting that might change the appearance...ah well!

Hi Elizabeth---the white bar at the top of my screen does the same as yours---I just wasn't remembering that at the time I read your post.....

Daisy--these problems are intermittent; seems to happen about 50-75% of the time I am logged on.

And, I checked w/our computer guy here @ work: our Explorer is Version 6 (he said that's pretty ancient...)
